Alongside Portugal are France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Sweden. Japan ranks first, with 193 destinations, followed by Singapore (192) and South Korea and Germany (191).
The Europeans Italy, Finland, Spain, and Luxembourg, with 190 destinations, occupy the fourth place. Before Portugal were Denmark and Austria in 189.
The ranking is based on data provided by IATA (International Air Transport Association) according to the number of destinations the holders of the passport can access without a prior visa. It is important to note that this ranking does not consider the temporary restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
