On March 29, Lamares, Capela & Associados published news about the Regressar Program. This will start at the beginning of July.
The Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) has promised to provide support of up to 6536,40€ to all migrants or Portuguese descendants who wish to return to work in mainland Portugal. It also plans to spend 10 million euros on the Regressar Program by the end of 2019.
People interested in participating need to be aware of these aspects:
- Must be out of the country at least since December 31, 2015;
- Must be emigrated for at least 1 year;
- You need to have an employment contract from 1 January 2019 until December 2020. Emigrants returning to Portugal cannot be applied for work.
Of the 6,536,40€ that can be given to emigrants, 2614,56€ corresponds to a “return allowance”, an amount that can rise by 10% for each family member accompanying the emigrant. The travel costs of the applicant himself and his family are also reimbursed up to a limit of 1,307€. The transport of your goods will also be supported up to a limit of 871.52€. The emigrant or Portuguese-descendant may also receive 436,76€ for the recognition of academic or professional skills.
