The new Empresa Online 2.0 platform allows you to create a company exclusively digitally
The new Portuguese Government platform, entitled Empresa Online 2.0, was launched with the aim of facilitating the creation of companies, in an exclusively digital way and intends to attract foreign investment, as it is available in two languages: Portuguese and English. The payments of the inherent fees can be paid by Mbway.
Empresa Online 2.0 allows the creation of:
- Single-member limited liability companies
- Private limited companies
- Public limited companies (measure suspended since 2017)
This new platform crosses data with the Tax Authority, Social Security, and other public entities; in addition to making connections with CTT and SIBS.
To create a company, you must have a Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key and a digital signature. Alternatively, lawyers, notaries and solicitors may do so on behalf of the interested parties.
According to the Ministry of Justice, this innovative project is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PPR), and will be available 24 hours a day, allowing citizens or their legal representatives, regardless of where they are located, to carry out remotely, at any time, the process of incorporating a company.
