It is aimed at the parents of Portuguese citizens, minors and with Portuguese citizenship, who want to live in Portugal.

Requirements:

The application for a residence permit always requires proof of family ties.

Process

Step 1 – Booking an appointment at SEF

The parent of a Portuguese citizen must go to SEF – Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service – to apply for a residence permit. At this point, their biometric data (photograph, fingerprints and signature) will be taken.

Step 2 – Residence card issuance

1-3 months after the appointment, the residence card will be sent to your address in Portugal.
