For whom it is intended:

The Registration Certificate for European Union Citizens (CRUE) is intended for European citizens who wish to stay in Portugal for a period of more than 3 months.

It applies to citizens of the following nationalities: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden – or of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the Principality of Andorra and Switzerland.

Requirements:

The application for a CRUE requires, among others, the following documents:

European identification document: passport or identity card.
Proof of address

Process

Citizens must submit the application at the Town Hall of their area of residence. The CRUE should be issued on the same day.
