It is aimed at subordinate employees or self-employed workers who work remotely for natural or legal persons located outside Portugal, with income obtained abroad.
The application for a temporary stay visa for the pursuit of a professional activity carried out remotely shall be accompanied, inter alia, by the following documents:
(i) Memorandum of association (If the applicant has company);
(ii) Contract(s) for the provision of services;
(iii) Document(s) showing services provided to one or more organisations;
Step 1 – Visa application
The temporary stay visa must be requested at the Portuguese Consulate of the country of residence or citizenship.
The visa issued entitles the holder to multiple entries into Portugal and is valid for a period of less than one year.
Step 2 – Visa issuance
After the interview at the Consulate, the latter must issue the visa within 30 days.
