It is aimed at citizens of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP). The member countries of the CPLP are: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor and Equatorial Guinea.
If the applicant is a national of a CPLP country, the type of visa requested (temporary stay, residence or job search) is marked CPLP, which implies flexibility in some of the documents and requirements needed to complete the process.

Step 1 – Applying for a visa
The temporary stay visa must be applied for at the Portuguese Consulate of the country (and Federal State, if applicable) of residence.
The visa issued entitles you to multiple entries into Portugal and is valid for a period of less than one year.
Step 2 – Receiving your visa
Once the application has been submitted, the Consulate should issue the visa within around 30 days.
