For whom it is intended:

Individuals who have been through a citizenship procedure and have been denied their claim and do not accept the decision.

In addition to the hierarchical appeal, addressed to the highest hierarchical superior of the author of the action within 30 days, which has a lower cost and a faster procedure, it is possible to judicially appeal decisions to the administrative and tax courts, within 3 months to request annulment or without any time limit if the act or decision is null and void.

It is a legal action that requires the assistance of a lawyer and can only be done in Portugal.

Requirements:

Being the subject of a decision by the Civil Registry Office rejecting an application for nationality – with which the applicant does not agree.
Compile, among others, the following documents:
- Identification documents
- Photocopy of the decision and the citizenship file

We will analyse and compare birth certificates and proof of residence documents, taking the opportunity to detect any inconsistencies in the documents that may impede the process.

Process:

Framing the entitlement and determining the best strategy for the client and their family.
Guidance on the issue and legalisation of foreign documents by the client.
Submission of the file to the competent registry/court/sector in Portugal and regular monitoring of progress.
Sending the final document to the client – be it the judgement, the civil registration certificate (birth, marriage, death), etc.

* In the citizenship process the client receives a certificate of the Portuguese birth certificate and has the obligation to request the issuance of the ->Citizen Card-> and in possession of the latter, if desired, it can also request the issuance of the ->Portuguese Passport->. Both documents can be issued at the Portuguese Embassy and/or Consulate or directly in Portugal. Ask us how.
